What is Kabbalah? |
Kabbalah is a unique aspect of the Jewish mysticism. Kabbalah consists of speculation on the nature of divinity, the creation, origin, and fate of the soul, and the role of human beings.
A complete understanding of the Torah cannot be attained without studying and understanding the Torah and the Kabbalah.
During the generations, studying of Kabbalah was another part of studying Torah, and was passed from the Rabi to the student. It was not widely spread for the following reasons:
a. The Kabbalistic literature is written in a code language which is called "the branches language".
This language includes terms such as "ear". "nose", "mouth", which are supposed to describe a very spiritual reality, that the only way the Kabbalistic rabibs could describe it was by using these exact words. There was great fear that many people who are not spiritually developed will misunderstand these terms and misinterpreted the Kabbalah itself.
b. The Kabbalistic literature was revealed only to those who were highly spiritual.
Kabbalah- A Jewish Kabbalah Religion or a temporary fashion?
In our generation, all restrictions for studying the Kabbalah have been dropped.
Once, in ancient times, the Kabbalah was thought from and to religious Jewish believers. It was thought that the Kabbalah should be thought only by religious Jewish people.
Today, things have changed. Kabbalah has turned into a mega belief that many people around the world are studying and practicing in daily life. It is less and less mentioned to it's Jewish origins and more adopted by many people around the world regardless of their religion.
Studying Kabbalah is an open matter for everyone who wishes to engage in such activity.
