| Origins of Kabbala names, Kabbala 72 angels |
Beyond the allure of many contemporary forms of ancient paganism, such as the
New Age, Wicca, and others, many people have become attracted to the Kabbala.
The popular press is speckled with articles of prominent Hollywood
personalities who have taken up a popular version of Kabbala.
Kabbala is a unique aspect of the Jewish mysticism. Kabbalah consists of speculation on the nature of divinity, the creation, origin, and fate of the soul, and the role of human beings. It all comes up in Kabbala names and the Kabbala 72 angels.
The Kabbala, is based on an ancient science which was concealed over the millenia, and the secrets of the Kabbalah which are known only to a select few, and these secrets are transferred from generation to generation, always from a master to a disciple, until today.
Kabbalah consists also of meditative, devotional, mystical and magical practices which were taught only to a select few and for this reason Kabbalah is regarded as an esoteric offshoot of Judaism.
Kabbala teaches that Creation is made of 10 "spheres", each of
which is symbolized by a different Hebrew letter and part of the human
body. With its emphasis on individual spirituality, Kabbalah has won
fans of all faiths, to the dismay of Orthodox Jews who argue it cannot
be divorced from dogma.
* A core Kabbala text is the Zohar ("Shining"), first published in
Italy in 1558. According to Jewish tradition, the Zohar's author was
Shimon Bar-Yohai, a rabbi in ancient Israel who developed mystical
powers while fleeing Roman occupiers
To Jewish mystics, letters in the Hebrew alphabet are a channel to the life force of God, as they possess sacred meaning.
Hebrew numbers are also represented by letters.
Names and words had numerical values.
Finding associations of words with the same value has revealed a hidden meaning behind the text of the Torah, the book of law attributed to Moses.
